Membership Information
The Network of Behavioral Health Providers is an executive-level Leadership Round Table for behavioral health service providers in the Greater Houston/Harris County area. Our significant impact on the behavioral health of the region flows from the engaged power of our members. Only executive directors, chief executive officers and presidents of behavioral health entities — or, for hospitals and large entities, the executive in charge of behavioral health — are allowed to participate in membership meetings. While current NBHP members recognize that they and their colleagues are likely already overburdened with work and meeting responsibilities, it is strongly felt that maintaining this attendance criterion ensures that decision-makers are present to speak on behalf of their agencies. Decisions are made at these meetings, and work moves forward efficiently. It also fosters strong, supportive relationships among leaders, which demonstrably benefit the region in times of crisis.
For an organization to join NBHP, it must be licensed or utilize licensed professional staff and it must serve indigent populations. Prospective members who do not meet these criteria may be considered on a limited basis if they substantially further the purpose of the organization and are approved by the membership.
Membership dues (due in July as the Network fiscal year runs from July 1-June 30) are based on the percentage of the organizational budget expended on behavioral health services (Not the total agency budget) and are currently set at the following levels:
$2,200: Agency has behavioral health budget expenditures of more that $5,000,000.
$1,600: Agency has behavioral health budget expenditures of more that $1,000,000.
$1,100: Agency has behavioral health budget expenditures from $500,000 to $1,000,000.
$600: Agency has behavioral health budget expenditures of less than $500,000.
