Call for Proposals - NBHP's ACT for Mental Health Symposium
The Network of Behavioral Health Providers is proud to present a 1-day symposium, titled "ACT for Mental Health," and are seeking proposals for speaker presentations.
The symposium will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from approximately 8:00AM-5:00 PM at The Council on Recovery: 303 Jackson Hill St, Houston, TX 77007. The theme for this year’s event is, “ACT for Mental Health” with three accompanying tracks: access, coordinate, thrive. The symposium serves behavioral health professionals (Counselors, Social Workers, Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists), Community Health Workers, and First Responders, in the Greater Houston area.
Individuals will have the opportunity to earn up to 6 continuing education contact hours (CE's). Continuing education contact hours will be available to: LMFTs, LPCs, LCDCs, Peer Support Specialists, Licensed Social Workers, and Licensed Psychologists. Breakout sessions will cover a range of topics, including: accessing an array of behavioral health services, coordinating across sectors to most effectively provide behavioral health services to our community, and thriving in our communities.

Proposals should be designated as 90-minute presentations or workshops, including time for questions at the end. Each proposal should include a description of the session, the target audience, three specific objectives, inclusion of your resume/CV to demonstrate qualification to present on the topic, and the presentation title. Descriptions must be no longer than 150 words.
Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by email on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Only lead presenters will be notified and will be expected to communicate pertinent information to co-presenters. If selected for presentation, NBHP will request a headshot photo, short presenter biography, and a copy of the slides/presentation.
