Next Steps

Besides continuing all three components and expanding the high school and psychiatric nursing components, initial steps are being taken to begin work in schools of social work and departments of psychology. Partnering with the University of Houston Dowtown Social Work Program, a Pathways Behavioral Health Internship track is being created that will offer intern placements in Network member agencies and provide stipends for the students in those sites. Initial discussion is also underway with the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Houston regarding the creation of a behavioral health emphasis within its program and creating innovative approaches to recruit students from area Bachelor's programs to that course of study.
