Please join NBHP for this special panel presentation and discussion! 1.5 hour of continuing education credit will be available for select behavioral health providers: LMFTs, LPCs, Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Social Workers, LCDCs, Peer Support Specialists, and CHWs. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
​

• Participants will learn basic framework of violence prevention, why and how people end up in domestic violence situations;
• Participants will learn about the intersection of sexual violence and substance abuse; 
  
• Participants will learn examples of discrimination, economic barriers like getting a job due to stigma from drug use and/or criminal charges, as well as topics of mental wellness and stability importance;
• Participants will learn about services offered at Houston Area Women's Center (HAWC), including behavioral health counseling;
• Participants will observe outcomes of Pilot Project with HAWC & United Way of Greater Houston
