Please join NBHP for this training! 1.5 hour of continuing education credit will be available for select behavioral health providers: LMFTs, LPCs, Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Social Workers, LCDCs, Peer Support Specialists, and CHWs.
SPEAKER BIO
Frances Le Grand is the Director of Education at YMCA International Services, a refugee resettlement agency in Houston. YMCA International Services is a unique branch of the YMCA that seeks to meet the needs of Houston’s significant refugee and immigrant communities. The Y provides comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. A returned Peace Corps volunteer and English Language Fellow, Frances has lived and worked in Greece, Turkey, Russia, and Ecuador. She has taught and led international students and teachers for 20 years.

Following this presentation, participants will recognize the unique background and needs of refugees, asylees, SIV (special immigrant visa), victims of trafficking, and parolees. Participants will learn how to identify and serve members of this group through effective and respectful cultural competence.
