Beyond the Black Eye: Dynamics of Domestic Violence

Please join NBHP for an informative and moving training by Michelle Sacks, Director of Violence and Prevention Training at Houston Area Women's Center on Wednesday, April 19, 1:00-2:00 PM via Zoom. 1.0 hour of continuing education credit will be available for select behavioral health providers: LMFTs, LPCs, and Licensed Social Workers. *We are working on getting approval for LCDCs (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors) to be eligible for CEU credit for this event - please stay tuned.  

Training Objectives:

• Learn about the problem and prevalence of domestic violence
• Understand the dynamics of interpersonal violence, including abuser tactics and trauma impact on a survivor
• Practice empowerment advocacy 
• Analyze the mental health and substance use impacts of domestic violence
