During the course of its work, the Network membership has identified a number of issues in which it has had particular interest and on which the members have agreed to devote dedicated activity.  Early on in its existence, the group came together around the lack of affordable access to psychiatric services for several agencies. From that need came the Psychiatric Residents Project funded by the Cullen Trust for Health Care.
More recently, the membership agreed that they wanted to engage in a major initiative and identified workforce development as the issue impacting every member regardless of their service specialization.  From that decision came The Pathways Project, a muli-faceted long-term commitment to increasing the individuals within the various behavioral health educational pipelines. Supported with major grants from United Way of Greater Houston, Houston Endowment, and the Meadows Foundation, Pathways is in its second year of implementation and currently working with educational programs and departments from high school to Baccalaureate degree.
