Human Sciences Technology Department, Coleman College for Health Sciences, Houston Community College Component
In reviewing the Human Services Technology (HST) Department’s challenges, two of the four Pathways program areas have been targeted—exposure and experience. The HST Department offers training for a wide range of human service delivery careers including Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a newly approved Certified Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist. The Pathways Project is working with the Department to create materials and mechanisms to market the program’s offerings both within and outside the College. In the area of experience, Pathways is working to include as many Network members as possible as intern placement sites for the department’s students.
